Tell us what is going on
The more you can tell us up front, the more useful the first reply will be. Brand and rough age of the system, what it is doing or not doing, how many people are in the house, and whether it is urgent.

Three things worth checking
The circuit or the pilot. On an electric system, check the breaker or fuse for the hot water circuit; on gas, check whether the pilot is still lit. Either can look exactly like a dead system.
Where the water is coming from. Water pooling under a unit can be the pressure relief valve doing its job, a fitting, or the cylinder itself. The last one means replacement; the first two often do not.
How old it is. There is usually a compliance plate or sticker on the unit with a date. Age changes the answer more than almost anything else.
None of that is a diagnosis, but it turns "no hot water" into something someone can actually act on.
